1. What is NEUAAA?
NEUAAA stands for Northeastern University Australian Alumni Association, which is an incorporated association (not-for-profit) registered at NSW Fair Trading, Australian. The registration number is INC2100759 and the certificate is displayed here. NEUAAA has the obligation to lodge the annual report to NSW Fair Trading as required.
NSW Fair Trading requires the secretary has an address in New South Wales, Australia. Apart from this requirement, any other committee member can be Non-NSW resident.
2. Why was NEUAAA established?
NEUAAA was established to connect and support the Northeastern University community in Australia. NEUAAA is a platform for NEU alumni, then staff, and their direct family members. At NEUAAA, you will have opportunities of connecting to the people who has the similar experience as you – studying or working at NEU, and you can build your networks with other members via a variety of social activities. In NEUAAA community, all the members are encouraged to support and respect each others. Please refer to NEUAAA vision and values here.
3. How can I register for the member of NEUAAA?
Three steps you need to do: go to the register page for registration; provide the mandatory information on “Edit Profile” page at the top-right corner of the user page once you register or login; and pay the registration fee. NEUAAA bank account details will be provided once you register.
Once Your registration fee is received, the membership officer will review your profile and let you know whether your application is successful or not.
4. How much is membership fee and what is the fee for?
The membership registration fee is AUD80, and the membership annual fee is AUD20. Once your registration, you will receive NEUAAA souvenirs: a T-shirt, a hat and a hoodie. The annual fee is to cover the NEUAAA’s operation expenses, for example, lodgement fee, stationaries, meeting costs, etc.
Committee reviews financial report quarterly, and members receive annual financial report after financial year.
5. Can I cancel or withdraw my membership?
You cannot withdraw your membership. However, if you don’t renew your membership before the new financial year (1st of July), your membership will be put on hold (no voting right) for 3 months before being cancelled.

NEUAAA committee is elected according to NEUAAA constitution, please refer to clause 15. Election of committee members in Part 3 The committee.
